The gain of such a bot is that it's constantly attacking and never rests (more loot per day compared to a normal human user), not that it's super efficient per time unit (so not a loot per hour compared to real people). The limit on how much it can yield per day is probably barracks training time anyway, so why would the bot user care if a single attack takes 5 or 10 seconds longer? There is hardly any gain in programming as such, just let the bot finish the attack as most people would do.
